Anti-inflammatory Activity of Elephantopus scaber and Sauropus androgynus Combination in Pregnant Mice Infected with Escherichia coli

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Elephantopus scaber and Sauropus androgynus as anti-inflammatory agents in pregnant mice infected with Escherichia coli. This used seven treatments group (n=3): K- (healthy mice), K+ (pregnant E. coli), P1 coli + 100%), P2 75% S. 25%), P3 50% 50%), P4 25% 75%), P5 100%). Flow cytometry analysis was analyze cell populations expressing CD4+TNFα+, CD4+IFNγ+ regulatory T cells (CD4+CD25+CD62L+). All treatment groups significantly (p<0.05) decreased TNFα IFNγ levels, while more effective increasing at 1st 2nd trimesters pregnancy. showed that combination alleviated inflammation by reducing inflammatory cytokines (TNFα IFNγ) T-regulatory cells. Therefore, could suppress during pregnancy infection.
